Modern child center with a vision
Child center De Scheg is located in a brand new complex in the Zijdelwaard district in Uithoorn. It is located in the multifunctional accommodation De Scheg, which includes a community room and a beautiful, large sports hall. People from different cultures live in the Zijdelwaard district with their own background, customs and language. We think it is important to offer everyone a feeling of ‘home’, even if it is in another country. We will engage in conversations with parents, listen to them, and ask them what they need
Collaboration with schools
De Scheg is located just around the corner from the primary schools De Vuurvogel and Het Startnest. We welcome children from both schools and work together as best as possible to offer children a nice place, both during and after school.
After-school care for the Startnest
At De Scheg we offer after-school care (TSO) for the children of the Startnest. We walk together with the children to our building, so that the children can literally have a break from school. Together we eat fresh bread from the bakery and talk about the things that concern them.
Daycare
De Scheg Childcare Center offers daycare for children in three different groups. The groups are vertical; All groups have children aged 0-4 years together. The pedagogical staff ensure a safe pedagogical climate in which children are given plenty of space and are encouraged to discover and develop. The child center has room for children aged 0-12 years, the children start at the daycare center and then flow effortlessly to the BSO. This makes it clear for children and parents.
After-school care
The children from the Vuurvogel and Startnest schools are picked up from school after school by our team of experienced staff. They eat fruit together and then play or do activities. We also use the beautiful sports hall. During the holidays, usually in consultation with the children, we create a fun program for the children. We regularly offer a workshop, such as the technique club, yoga classes or an art workshop.
Our rooms are light, with many windows and high ceilings. The building is largely made of wood, which gives it a beautiful, warm appearance. A play area in the hallway with slide and climbing wall offers challenge and fun for the children, a nice eye-catcher in our building!

Would you like to step inside, meet our employees, and get a feel for the atmosphere? You can! We would be happy to give you a tour of our location.
However, we can only schedule a date for this once we have actual space available at our location. This way we avoid disappointment. Currently, we have waitlists for (almost) all of our locations and there are no openings available. Therefore, we recommend registering your child first so that you can be added to the waitlist.
