After-school care with sports fields and a nice courtyard
VZOD is a branch for out-of-school care (BSO) for all children aged 8-9 years. The children often move on to VZOD from the BSO location Buiten Gewoon. VZOD has large sports fields and a nice courtyard in the canteen of the korfball club. That is also where the name comes from: VZOD is an abbreviation of Progress Zij Ons Doel.
Together with the team, we ensure that children feel a sense of coming home. We create a nice place where they can play together, discover all kinds of things and develop further. We offer the children space for their own ideas. We are there to help them, but above all we let them have fun.
What we do at Solidoe VZOD
With two large studio cabinets in the indoor space, making the interior space a studio. We also have 2 smaller rooms. The children can do their homework there so they don’t have to do anything at home, or they can play a game there.
Around the building are tennis courts, football fields, an ice skating rink and the music club. If the children belong to a club, they can also go there on their after-school care day, so they don’t miss anything.
We also organize activities outside the building. In the summer, for example, we cycle to the Sailing School where the children learn to sail. And during the holidays we do activities such as building rafts, holding treasure hunts, laser gaming, burning wood and much more!
Independence
We notice that parents are very happy with the independence that the children develop at VZOD. When they first come to us, the children are still picked up, but as they get older, they can go home independently (of course with the parent’s permission). These are great steps, because at the end of primary school they also go to secondary school independently!

However, we can only schedule a date for this once we have actual space available at our location. This way we avoid disappointment. Currently, we have waitlists for (almost) all of our locations and there are no openings available. Therefore, we recommend registering your child first so that you can be added to the waitlist.
