There I learned what it is like to live in another country with a different culture. People from different cultures live in the Zijdelwaard district with their own background and language. ’t Overstapje en de Vuurvliegjes
Zijdelwaard toddler care consists of 2 locations: ‘t Overstapje in the Startnest primary school, and de Vuurvliegjes in the Vuurvogel primary school. We have our own space in the schools. Because both locations are in a school, there is good cooperation between the toddler care staff and those of the school.
Many cultures
People with many different cultural backgrounds live in this neighborhood. You see this at school and in preschool. The employees pay attention to the cultural background of the children, for example by celebrating the various holidays.
Additional language support
Both toddler groups offer Preschool Education (VE). We offer additional language support to children aged 2.5 to 4 years who need it with the Uk & Puk program.

In addition, we use the LOGO3000 tool together with primary schools to expand children’s vocabulary. We increase the children’s vocabulary in a playful way with beautifully designed wall and talking pictures.
Seamlessly to primary school
We supervise all children via the digital child monitoring system Konnect. This means that children go to primary education with a continuous line: the transition from day care to primary school and out-of-school care is seamless. We coordinate the themes we discuss with the school. This creates unity and recognition for the children.

Would you like to step inside, meet our employees, and get a feel for the atmosphere? You can! We would be happy to give you a tour of our location.
However, we can only schedule a date for this once we have actual space available at our location. This way we avoid disappointment. Currently, we have waitlists for (almost) all of our locations and there are no openings available. Therefore, we recommend registering your child first so that you can be added to the waitlist.
